Where is Lovelight Stories Headed in 2020?

January 5, 2020

< back to blog home

Where is Lovelight stories headed in 2020?…It’s the first of many questions I’m hearing from all of you! Luckily, I’m ready to answer that question – with a lot of enthusiasm too, because of the potential I see in Lovelight stories in the coming years! While sharing my long-term vision is something I know you’ve asked for (and is a deep desire of mine too), it’s one that will come in the next few months. This is the first story of a series uncovering the story within Lovelight stories…one I’m uncovering for myself in a deeper way, and sharing with you as clarity continues to surface. So, in true Lovelight stories fashion, this is a journey we truly ARE taking together, and I’m so grateful you’ve continued to join me. We’re just getting started, and I CANNOT WAIT for what we’ll do together!

From the very beginning, many of you joined me on the journey of walking alongside organizations who are serving the vulnerable – You’ve been walking with me on my personal journey AS I’ve been walking with these organizations, and together, we’ve been learning about and getting involved with causes we care about. And while that still remains to be true, Lovelight stories is evolving. Call it a new season of growth, deep-set intuition, a God-thing, or whatever you will, but I’ve been sensing Lovelight stories approaching a new horizon for some time, and that horizon is getting ever closer!

In 2020, I’ve identified 2 big initiatives broken into sub-projects to take place throughout the year. This is where we’re headed, and I hope to be able to say these things all happened by the end of the year!

Initiative #1: Polish Online Presence

I’ve embarked on a branding journey – some of which you’ve already helped with!

1) Copywriting

I’m taking a 12-week copywriting course with Ashlyn Carter, and by the end, I hope to better communicate the purpose, mission, and value Lovelight stories brings to our world! One of the first steps was to survey all of you in order to get a good understanding of where we stand today – Thank you so much for participating! Your insight is a huge gift.

2) Branding

Next I hope to evaluate the Lovelight stories visual brand and ensure it aligns to the core mission clarified in the copywriting!

3) Website

There wouldn’t be a Lovelight stories without a website, and this piece needs some polishing. Big or small? I’m not sure yet! It’ll be part of the journey!

4) Social media

It’s part of the game, and I’m thankful for these platforms giving us an opportunity to curate our own feed of topics and people interesting to us! There’ll be many tweaks and changes here.

I hope to have this all wrapped-up in the first half of the year, so I can begin to focus on…

Initiative #2: Launching the Lovelight Stories Podcast!

Yay! There’s so much potential here. Imagine a space where we can explore different perspectives on social issues through real, uplifting and positive stories told by real people living in vulnerable situations! A podcast will allow for these stories to be told in a more engaging way, offering the opportunity for authentic connection, deeper understanding, and encouragement in our own lives too! I am SO FIRED UP about this, and I hope you are too! 😄

Whew! This may or may not be a lot, and I’m left feeling: What if it doesn’t all come true in a year? What if it takes longer? I’m declaring now for myself that it’s ok, if that’s what it takes. There’s so much I don’t know about what I don’t know. Ha! This is all new to me, and I’m learning with every step I take – which means I’m moving forward confidently, but with an open mind filled with anticipation, determination, and grace to be patient with myself as I give this all I’ve got!

One more thing – I also hope to engage with a business coach, mentor, or mastermind group of which to continually learn alongside this year as I go. I want to do all I can to make this successful, and I know sharing experiences with others in a supportive environment is key! If you know anyone you’d like to recommend, please do! It may be the glue that helps keep this together and moving forward in strategic ways…for that matter, if there’s anyone or anything you’d like to suggest after reading this, either comment below or send an email. Your thoughts are welcome here! 💗

So where is Lovelight stories headed in 2020?

Upward, I hope! Thank you for asking, and for showing your support and belief in Lovelight stories. For better or for worse, I’m an open book and this is the story I see written on the horizon…

With love and gratitude,
